Gabriel’s Narrative.
I found CASS after searching through the clutter of Security Companies that flood the web. I found that it was the only one training school that had an actual human being response - the live instructor has responded personally to my inquiries. After several conversations I decided to go through the course, so I started reading and training.
I arrived to the facility in September of 2010, not knowing what to expect. I was especially worried because I did not have any US military experience. The instructors didn’t care, all they cared about was what I could do from now on, and how could they make a tactical operator out of me. What I had, or had not, done in the past was no longer important.
The course was challenging, but more than that, it was its own recompense. I made more of a connection and more fun with my team ( other students ) and the people who teach there, than I had not had with anyone in years.
No matter what task you are given you have the guys to rely on. And that’s the best thing that this course does, it creates the team. It is the team, the guys, that bring me back here again and again…
Over the time I have met plenty of other graduates of the course, many returning from overseas, and all of them are remarkable and unique. And suffice it to say: the dinner conversation is never dull, that’s a guarantee.
Three weeks after graduation I got a call with the offer of a job overseas. I couldn’t take it due to “immigration” reasons, but we kept in touch.
Soon enough I was deployed in South America, training the host nation’s government forces to include Coast Guard, Police, Defense Force, Customs and Drug Enforcement Agencies. It was all possible due to instructors who were taking extra time and inviting me to their home, and continuing teaching me, just so I could become a professional.
Learning never stops at CASS, there is always something new to learn, something new to read. The instructors themselves never stop studying.
Finishing the course it’s not the final destination, it’s only the first step. When you are living here at school, you not only have a huge amount of knowledge - you also have the whole support of your team mates, instructors and assistant instructors. They will do everything in their power to see you succeed.
